Job Summary

The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising on-site construction activities, ensuring work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety norms. The role involves coordinating with labor, subcontractors, and senior engineers to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Management

  • Supervise daily construction activities at site
  • Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications
  • Plan daily tasks and allocate work to labor and subcontractors

2. Labor & Workforce Supervision

  • Manage masons, carpenters, helpers, and other site workers
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline of labor
  • Resolve labor-related issues at site

3. Quality Control

  • Ensure quality of materials and workmanship as per standards
  • Check levels, alignment, finishing, and execution accuracy
  • Identify and report defects or deviations to the senior engineer

4. Safety Management

  • Ensure compliance with site safety rules and regulations
  • Enforce use of PPE (helmets, safety shoes, gloves, etc.)
  • Identify site hazards and take preventive measures to avoid accidents

5. Material Management

  • Verify material delivery, quality, and proper storage
  • Monitor material usage and minimize wastage
  • Maintain material consumption and stock records

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and suppliers
  • Communicate site progress, issues, and requirements to senior management
  • Follow instructions from the Project Engineer / Project Manager

7. Progress Monitoring

  • Track daily and weekly work progress
  • Ensure timely achievement of project milestones
  • Report delays and suggest corrective actions

8. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain site registers for labor, materials, and safety
  • Prepare and submit daily site progress reports
  • Assist in measurements, billing, and quantity verification

9. Equipment & Tools Handling

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and machinery
  • Arrange required tools and equipment for daily site activities

10. Problem Solving

  • Handle site-related issues concerning labor, materials, or drawings
  • Take prompt decisions to ensure smooth workflow and continuity of work

Skills Required

  • Basic knowledge of construction methods and site execution
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Leadership and team-handling skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
  • Strong safety awareness
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills

Qualification & Experience (Preferred)

  • Diploma / BE / BTech in Civil Engineering
  • 1-3 years experience
