Site Engineer

1. Job Purpose

To plan, execute, and supervise day-to-day biomining operations at municipal waste processing sites ensuring timely progress, compliance with environmental norms, safety protocols, and proper coordination with local authorities and company management.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Project Execution

• Oversee

  biomining activities

  including excavation, trommel screening, segregation, and transportation of recovered materials (soil, RDF, metals, plastics, inert, etc.).
• Ensure

  daily work targets

  (quantum processed per day) are met as per the project schedule.
• Coordinate with

  machinery operators, labour contractors, and vendors

  for smooth operations.
• Verify

  input and output quantities

  excavated waste, screened fractions, and dispatch records.
• Ensure correct use of

  machinery (e.g., excavators, trommels, loaders, conveyors, compactors)

  .

B. Monitoring & Reporting

• Maintain

  daily progress reports (DPRs)

  and submit updates to the

  promoters or management

  on a day-to-day basis.
• Prepare

  weekly and monthly reports

  covering progress, fuel consumption, manpower, and machinery utilization.
• Record site photos, drone images (if applicable), and maintain documentation for

  client billing and audits

  .
• Track and reconcile quantities with

  weighbridge slips and truck movement logs

  .

C. Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEHS)

• Ensure compliance with

  MoEF, CPCB, and State PCB guidelines

  for biomining operations.
• Implement

  dust suppression, odour control, and leachate management

  practices.
• Conduct

  toolbox meetings

  , ensure use of

  PPEs

  , and maintain site safety registers.
• Immediately report any

  accidents, incidents, or equipment failures

  to the Project Head.

D. Coordination & Liaison

• Coordinate with

  municipal officials, consultants, and third-party monitoring agencies

  for site inspections and approvals.
• Liaise with

  vendors and subcontractors

  for materials, fuel, and logistics support.
• Maintain good relations with

  local authorities and community

  to avoid disruptions.

E. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain registers for

  fuel, diesel log, attendance, machinery hours, waste processed, and dispatch records

  .
• Assist in preparation of

  client running bills and measurement sheets

  .
• Ensure documentation is in line with

  companys QA/QC and environmental compliance standards

  .

3. Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  municipal solid waste handling, screening, and segregation processes

  .
• Good understanding of

  equipment used in biomining projects

  .
• Proficiency in

  MS Excel, Word, and reporting formats

  .
• Leadership and

  team-management skills

  to handle site staff and labour.

• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  in dynamic site environments.
• Effective

  communication and reporting skills

  (both written and verbal).
• Ability to

  work in field conditions

  and travel across project locations.

4. Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Civil / Environmental / Mechanical Engineering.

• 2–6 years

  of experience in waste management, landfill reclamation, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in

  biomining / scientific landfill / waste processing projects

  preferred.
