As a Control and Protection System Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will play a vital role in driving the execution of complete control and protection system engineering for FACTS projects. Your responsibilities will include defining and assigning work packages to team members, coordinating control and protection activities throughout the project execution phase, and collaborating with various engineering departments to develop technical concepts. You will be responsible for scheduling engineering activities for both C&P Software and C&P Hardware, ensuring milestones are met in alignment with project timelines. Additionally, you will oversee the preparation of technical and economic tender documents for control and protection systems, as well as evaluate subcontractor offers and support purchasing decisions. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, along with 10+ years of experience in Substation/FACTS/HVDC Control & Protection Engineering. Experience in site commissioning of power transmission and control systems is highly desirable, as well as knowledge of FACTS/HVDC technology and interfaces. Strong communication skills in English, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and familiarity with software such as SICAM PAS, TDC, PLC, SIPROTEC, and DIGSI are essential for success in this position. You should also demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a multi-national and multi-cultural team, exhibit a commitment to quality, and possess a keen understanding of techno-commercial design optimization.
