To lead the design, development, and validation of low-power off-board AC chargers (up to 3.3 kW), ensuring product reliability, safety, and compliance with national and international EV charging standards. The role includes working across hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams to bring efficient and cost-effective AC charging solutions to market. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and support the end-to-end development of AC EV chargers up to 3.3 kW (single-phase wall box or pedestal chargers). • Design AC-DC conversion topologies, control algorithms, and protection circuitry aligned with application and regulatory needs. • Ensure compliance with IEC 61851-1, IS 17017, and other applicable standards. • Integrate charger control with backend protocols like OCPP (1.6/2.0.1) for networked charging features. • Optimize designs for cost, size, thermal performance, and manufacturability. • Coordinate with firmware, mechanical, and compliance teams for integrated product development. • Drive EMI/EMC compliance testing, safety certifications (CE, BIS, etc.), and field validation. • Support failure analysis, root cause diagnosis, and design improvements based on field feedback. • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and validation reports. Skills & Competencies: • Strong understanding of low-power AC-DC converters, PFC topologies, and power stage design. • Familiarity with single-phase electrical systems, insulation and safety requirements. • Knowledge of charging protocols • Proficiency in tools like Altium, OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice/PSIM. • Hands-on experience with charger firmware interface, embedded control (e.g., STM32, TI C2000). • Ability to analyze power electronics circuits for thermal performance, protection, and efficiency. • Experience with test instruments (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, EMC pre-compliance tools). • Basic understanding of OCPP and communication stacks (Modbus, CAN, RS485). • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
