As a Simulation Engineer specializing in Discrete Event Simulation (DES) or Plant Simulation software, you will play a crucial role in modeling, simulating, and optimizing intricate systems, processes, and workflows. Your expertise will be utilized to enhance operational efficiency, production throughput, and system performance across various industries like manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain. Your responsibilities will include developing, validating, and executing detailed simulation models using software such as Siemens Plant Simulation, FlexSim, Arena, or Simul8. By analyzing and optimizing production processes, facility layouts, and system flows, you will contribute to creating accurate and detailed simulation models. Working closely with engineering, production, and operations teams, you will identify bottlenecks, gather requirements, and develop improvement strategies to drive operational excellence. Utilizing "what-if" scenario analysis, you will evaluate the impact of process changes, equipment upgrades, and new layouts. Your role will also involve presenting simulation results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making. Additionally, you will conduct thorough data analysis to ensure the validity and accuracy of simulation models and results, continuously enhancing simulation methodologies, tools, and techniques to improve model fidelity and efficiency. Documentation will be a key aspect of your role, as you will be required to document all simulation models, assumptions, and results to promote transparency and facilitate knowledge transfer. Collaboration with R&D and process development teams to simulate new technologies or systems before implementation will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will assist in developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor simulation performance and results. This position is on a contractual/temporary basis with a contract length of 11 months. The work schedule is during day shifts from Monday to Friday, and the preferred experience level for this role is a total of 2 years.
