As a Principal Analog Design Engineer specializing in New Product Development within Power Management at Onsemi in Bengaluru, India, you will be a crucial member of the team responsible for the advancement of various Power Management products for consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. These products include DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers, switches, and e-fuses. Your primary responsibilities in this role will include leading an analog IP block from its definition phase to the delivery of the IP. You will be tasked with evaluating the intermediate and final results of projects both during the design phase and the silicon evaluation stage to ensure the achievement of technical objectives. Furthermore, you will collaborate with physical designers, providing guidance and closely monitoring the progress of IC layout. Collaboration will be a key aspect of your role as you work with Design Verification teams in the pre-tapeout phase to guarantee the completion of all technical tasks before tapeout. Additionally, you will liaise with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams to facilitate a successful transition to production. Your collaboration extends globally as you engage with overseas design and systems teams on technical aspects, IP development, and knowledge sharing. You will be part of the Mid-Vin Buck (MVB) team at Mid-Voltage Regulators, which focuses on delivering optimized power package solutions for enhanced performance, reliability, and throughput in response to the growing demand in various industries such as Enterprise, Industrial, Personal Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, and Autonomous Driving. Your role as a Validation Engineer will involve working hands-on to develop and validate power solutions that meet customer and market needs. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing validation boards, schematics, and layouts tailored to customer use cases and applications, ensuring modularization, mixed-signal compatibility, scalability, and alignment with customer EVMs. - Creating and documenting comprehensive validation plans, considering the device and system environment. - Defining the Validation Strategy encompassing Hardware, Software, and Instrumentation. - Generating and executing validation test cases using scripting languages like Python, Test stand, and Labview. - Conducting system-level and parametric tests with a focus on comprehensive analysis and problem-solving. - Collaborating closely with design and Firmware teams to address customer requirements, implement custom features, and resolve device-related issues. - Leading and mentoring junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. About The Role And Team Develop validation board, schematics and layout, matching it with customer use-case & applications. The validation boards include - modularization of the Val board for generic flow, solving mixed-signal challenges, scalability of HW for a large number of setups and most importantly closeness to the customer EVMs. Build, design, and document the full validation plan. The validation plan needs a detailed understanding of not only the device but also the system environment. Define the Validation Strategy in terms of Hardware, Software and Instrumentation Building Validation test cases and implementing them on different scripting languages. (i.e. Python, Test stand, Labview etc.) Bring the device on the bench; Perform system level and parametric test on the bench with a strong break-the-part mentality. Work with design and Firmware team to support customer needs, and implement custom features in FW. Close collaboration with FW and application teams to understand the device issues and bugs and find the FW-level workaround for the fix. Debug device and setup-related issues and drive the issue to closure independently Engaging on customer issues and fixes with application engineers, to help them understand the device better, help to fix the issues and provide modifications if any tweaks are needed. This is done in collaboration with application engineers. Team leading skillset along with mentoring and guiding junior engineers in the team. As a Hardware Engineer at Common Hardware Group (CHG) Power, you will be a part of a central team dedicated to supporting power design across a variety of products, such as Cisco 8000 Series Routers, Catalyst 9000 switches, IoT devices, and more. In this role, you will collaborate with different functions including Hardware Design and Test, ASIC Design and Test, Power Engineering, Signal Integrity, EMC / EMI, and Mechanical Design.
