Designation - Observability SRE Location - Wadgaonsheri, Pune Experience - 8 to 12 yrs Type - On site, Full Time Overview : We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Observability SRE to independently own, implement, and evolve our open source observability stack. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana and SigNoz , and proven experience building custom dashboards, alerting solutions, and guiding developer adoption especially in Java and Python environments. Key Responsibilities: Observability Stack Ownership: Deploy, configure, and manage end-to-end open source observability solutions, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger and SigNoz. Instrumentation & Data Collection: Champion and implement tracing, metrics, and logging instrumentation in Java and Python applications, enabling full stack visibility. Alerting & Dashboards: Design and maintain actionable alerting pipelines and custom dashboards tailored to business and engineering needs. Developer Enablement: Guide and mentor developers in adopting OpenTelemetry and best practices for observability instrumentation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Incident Response: Collaborate with developers and SREs during incidents, leveraging observability data for rapid root cause analysis and resolution. Process Improvement: Continuously refine observability processes, automate integrations, and evaluate new technologies to improve reliability and insight. Documentation: Produce clear, comprehensive documentation and runbooks for observability tools, standards, and onboarding. Requirement: Experience: 7+ years in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering roles, with at least 3+ years focused on observability and monitoring. Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise with open source observability tools: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, SigNoz . Proven track record of implementing and managing alerting pipelines and custom dashboards. Deep understanding of distributed tracing, metrics collection, and log aggregation concepts. Experience instrumenting Java and Python applications for observability. Strong skills in Linux systems administration and automation/scripting (e.g., Bash, Python). Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teaching skills with the ability to guide and mentor developers. Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated, able to independently drive projects and initiatives. Preferred: Experience integrating observability with CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with additional observability tools (Elastic Stack, Loki, Tempo, etc.). Exposure to cloud-native architectures and microservices. Experience in regulated or high-availability environments.
