Job Title: Social Science Teacher (Middle/High School) Department: Academics Reports To: Head of Department / Academic Coordinator / Principal Job Summary: The SST Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and well-planned Social Science lessons aligned with the curriculum, covering subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, and Economics. The teacher fosters critical thinking, citizenship, and cultural awareness among students, while maintaining a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in History, Geography, Civics, and Economics as per the academic syllabus (CBSE/ICSE/State Board/IB). Use diverse teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and levels. Create and assess assignments, tests, projects, and other evaluation tools. Maintain student records, including grades, attendance, and behavioral observations. Participate in school events, PTMs (Parent-Teacher Meetings), workshops, and training programs. Collaborate with other teachers and staff for interdisciplinary projects and activities. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Professional Requirement: B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory. Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience (can vary based on school level and board). Skills and Competencies: Strong subject knowledge across Social Science disciplines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage students through innovative teaching techniques. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Critical thinking and the ability to make historical or civic content relevant. Comfortable using digital tools (e.g., smart boards, Google Classroom, Zoom). Work Environment: Classroom-based teaching during school hours. Occasional field trips, seminars, and extracurricular involvement.
