Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Ayurveda Cook / Wellness Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving wholesome Ayurvedic vegetarian meals in alignment with our yoga and wellness philosophy. The chef should be creative, mindful, and knowledgeable in Ayurvedic principles of nutrition and cooking. Key Responsibilities: Prepare daily sattvic vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for yoga students and staff. Plan weekly menus based on Ayurvedic dosha-balancing principles and seasonal ingredients. Collaborate with the yoga and wellness team to align food with detox, fasting, and wellness retreat programs. Ensure kitchen hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness at all times. Source fresh, local, and organic ingredients wherever possible. Manage inventory, food ordering, and budget for the kitchen. Educate students on Ayurvedic food principles during workshops or informal sessions (optional but preferred). Cater to specific dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) of guests. Requirements: Proven experience as a wellness chef, Ayurveda cook, or similar role in a wellness center or retreat. Deep understanding of Ayurvedic cooking and Indian vegetarian cuisine. Ability to cook for 20–40 people daily in a retreat or community-style setting. Excellent time management and multitasking skills. Passion for holistic health, yoga, and conscious cooking. Basic English communication skills (Hindi is a plus). Preferred Qualifications: Formal training in Ayurvedic nutrition or culinary arts. Experience working in yoga retreats, eco-resorts, or spiritual communities. Knowledge of seasonal and locally-sourced sattvic ingredients.
