Perform Growth Promotion Tests (GPT) to assess the efficacy of microbiological media. Conduct microbiological testing of water, food, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and ayurvedic products as per standard methods. Operate, calibrate, and maintain all microbiological instruments and ensure proper documentation. Carry out biological verification of autoclaves to ensure sterility compliance. Perform environmental monitoring using swab, volumetric air sampling, settle plate, and contact plate methods. Experience in conducting Proficiency Testing (PT), Internal Quality Control (IQC), and Inter-Laboratory Comparisons (ILC) . Prepare and maintain Standard Test Procedures (STP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and test formats . Participate in regulatory audits and client visits, ensuring complete technical preparedness and compliance. Review, verify, and approve microbiological test reports with strict quality and data integrity standards. Ensure maintenance and updating of all technical documents and records in alignment with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements. Prepare raw data sheets and record results parameter-wise as per applicable standards. Perform Measurement Uncertainty (MU) calculations as per laboratory standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities · Must be experienced in handling the audit like NABL, FASSAI, APEDA etc. · Develop, implement, and maintain a quality management system in line with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. · Ensure compliance with NABL requirements and manage matters related to NABL accreditation. · Monitor the effectiveness of the quality management system and ensure corrective actions are implemented where necessary. · Prepare, issue, and maintain quality system documents (e.g., SOPs, guidelines, protocols). · Conduct internal audits and management reviews to assess system performance and identify improvement areas. Plan and schedule laboratory activities to ensure smooth workflow and optimum resource utilization. Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of test samples in compliance with safety guidelines. Maintain general cleanliness and safety standards in the laboratory. Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Notify the administration and store department promptly about equipment breakdowns or repair needs. · Participate in Proficiency Testing (PT) Programs, Inter-Laboratory Comparisons (ILC), and Internal Quality Checks (IQC). · Analyze proficiency testing outcomes and implement corrective actions where necessary. · Track and verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. · Manage customer complaints effectively, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction. · Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence within the laboratory team. · Identify and address the training needs of scientists and laboratory staff. · Provide technical guidance on sample preparation and testing procedures. · Ensure that staff members are competent and well-trained in the latest quality standards and laboratory techniques. · Supervise laboratory staff, ensuring high levels of discipline, punctuality, and teamwork. · Monitor staff attendance and overall performance within the laboratory. · Encourage collaboration and effective communication among team members. · Maintain a positive and productive working environment. · Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards and NABL accreditation requirements.
