Job Title: Functional Consultant Industry: IT Services & Consulting Department: Consulting Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Category: IT Consulting Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated individual to handle monitoring, scripting, and Linux system administration tasks. This role involves installing and configuring Linux environments for new builds, managing production, staging, and development environments on cloud platforms, and ensuring smooth patching and cluster switching processes. The candidate will also engage with customers to understand deployment, integration, and architecture requirements. Key Responsibilities: Install and configure Linux operating systems for new environment setups. Collaborate effectively within teams and demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn and deliver results. Set up cloud-based environments for production, staging, and development purposes. Plan and execute patching activities and manage cluster failover procedures. Communicate with customers to gather deployment and integration requirements, and contribute to architecture implementation. Administer JIRA for project tracking and management. Design and implement monitoring systems for applications and testing environments. Create and deploy EC2 instances, configure VPCs, and manage storage solutions including persistent storage. Apply patches across Linux servers from a centralized repository. Configure and manage DNS and DHCP servers. Work within an Agile development environment. Required Skills and Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Level 1 technical support or system administration roles. Proven expertise in Linux installation, configuration, and system monitoring. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including switching and routing. Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, or equivalent. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or TeamCity. Experience working with JIRA and Agile project management tools. Exposure to version control systems such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or Subversion. Knowledge of database management systems like PostgreSQL or MySQL. Basic scripting skills in Shell or Python are advantageous. Experience with automation tools like Ansible is a plus. Batch scripting knowledge is desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Educational Qualifications: Graduate or Postgraduate degree in any discipline.
