Job Title: Export / Import Manager Industry: Textile & Apparel (Fashion) Department: Procurement & Supply Chain Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Category: Import & Export Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Export/Import Manager to lead and manage end-to-end international trade operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, timely execution, and cost efficiency. The role demands strong operational expertise in handling large export volumes, with a deep understanding of trade regulations, documentation, and coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Trade Compliance & Documentation Interpret product specifications and accurately assign Harmonized System (HS) codes. Apply and manage Drawback, RoDTEP, and RoSTCL incentives with correct calculations. Leverage relevant Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to maximize trade benefits. Oversee issuance and approval of Certificates of Origin (COO) through appropriate authorities. Ensure compliance with CTPAT certification and customs invoice regulations. Maintain adherence to all legal, regulatory, and ethical trade standards. Coordinate with Customs for permissions such as Self-Sealing and RFID approvals. Export Planning & Execution: Collaborate with business teams to execute shipment plans based on sales forecasts and demand projections. Participate in new product shipment planning and track progress to ensure timely delivery. Interface with Marketing, PPC, Warehousing, CHA, transporters, and freight forwarders for seamless operations. Manage export movements from multiple locations including factories, job work units, and SEZs. Handle various export modes: Direct, Merchant, Deemed, and SEZ transactions. Identify and work with logistics partners including forwarders and shipping lines (both local and global), while being aware of relevant international shipping laws. Guide warehouse and job work teams on optimal container/vehicle loading methods (e.g., GOH, pallets, flat pack) to reduce cost and avoid underutilization. Ensure LEO (Let Export Order) timelines are met from factory dispatch to port handover. Address and resolve customs-related queries efficiently. Monitor and track international shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Performance Monitoring & Cost Management: Set and achieve targets related to delivery timelines, cost control, and overall productivity. Analyze performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements. Qualifications & Skills: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage. Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in export operations, including pre- and post-shipment processes. Demonstrated leadership in managing exports of 50+ containers per month for at least 3 consecutive years. Technical Proficiency: Expertise in SAP ERP systems. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and strong English communication skills (written & spoken). Familiarity or experience with AI tools, VBA scripting, or Python programming is a plus.
