Role Summary: The School Nurse is responsible for managing and promoting the health and well-being of all students and staff within the school environment. This includes providing immediate medical care, maintaining health records, managing chronic conditions, and implementing health-related policies. Key Responsibilities: Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff during school hours. Maintain up-to-date health records of all students, including vaccination records, medical histories, and chronic illness management. Administer medications as prescribed by doctors and as per school policy, ensuring proper documentation. Monitor and manage health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, etc., in coordination with parents and physicians. Communicate with parents regarding health concerns, injuries, or illnesses related to their children. Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper functioning of the school infirmary. Conduct periodic health checks and coordinate annual medical camps and screenings. Educate students and staff on basic hygiene, nutrition, and health practices. Implement health and safety protocols during outbreaks or health-related emergencies. Maintain records and reports of daily cases, medicine stock, and incidents. Coordinate with external medical professionals or hospitals during emergencies. Support the school in maintaining COVID or other public health-related compliance measures, if needed. Qualifications & Skills: B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution. Registered with the State Nursing Council. Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a school, clinic, or hospital setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stay calm in emergencies and make quick decisions. Compassionate and child-friendly approach.
