Job Title: Shift In charge Location: Katupakkam, Chennai Salary: Up to 20,000/- P.M Experience:2+ yrs. Note: Accommodation provided for other district candidates Job Purpose: To supervise and coordinate day-to-day fleet operations during the assigned shift, ensuring timely vehicle deployment, compliance with safety standards, effective utilization of fleet resources, and smooth execution of transport activities. Key Responsibilities: Supervise fleet operations during the assigned shift, ensuring all vehicles are deployed as per schedule. Allocate drivers, vehicles, and resources based on trip requirements and customer demands. Monitor vehicle movement, track trips, and ensure on-time departures and arrivals. Handle shift-wise planning for loading/unloading, vehicle turnaround, and yard management. Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and customer service teams for smooth operations. Ensure adherence to safety, legal, and compliance requirements (RTO, permits, insurance, etc.). Maintain shift records such as trip sheets, fuel consumption, driver duty hours, and incident reports. Resolve operational issues such as vehicle breakdowns, driver shortages, or route deviations. Support drivers with guidance on routes, schedules, and compliance policies. Ensure vehicles are maintained in proper condition, escalating repair/maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of fleet/logistics operations. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple vehicles and drivers. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in emergencies. Proficiency in using GPS tracking systems, transport management systems (TMS), or fleet software. Knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
