Role Overview

ServiceNow Developer

The candidate will collaborate with technical architects, functional consultants, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective ServiceNow solutions aligned with platform best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. ServiceNow Development & Configuration

• Develop, configure, customize, and maintain ServiceNow applications.
• Create and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, Data Policies, Notifications, and Scheduled Jobs.
• Configure forms, tables, fields, lists, modules, and application menus.
• Develop reusable scripts using JavaScript and ServiceNow Glide APIs.
• Follow ServiceNow development best practices and platform security standards.

2. ITSM & Service Catalog

• Work on ITSM modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and Service Level Management.
• Develop and configure Catalog Items, Record Producers, and Order Guides.
• Configure Catalog Client Scripts, Catalog UI Policies, variables, variable sets, and reference qualifiers.
• Implement approval processes, fulfillment workflows, and automated service requests.

3. Workflow & Process Automation

• Develop and maintain workflows using Flow Designer and Workflow Editor, as applicable.
• Configure flows, subflows, reusable actions, and approval processes.
• Automate business processes based on functional and technical requirements.
• Work with IntegrationHub and relevant spokes to support process automation.

4. Integration Development

• Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and external applications.
• Work with REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, JSON, and XML.
• Configure and troubleshoot IntegrationHub integrations.
• Handle authentication, data mapping, error handling, logging, and integration troubleshooting.
• Work with MID Server, OAuth 2.0, LDAP/Active Directory, and third-party applications as required.

5. Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, resolve defects, and support enhancements.
• Participate in testing, deployment, and ongoing platform maintenance.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure solution quality.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and configuration.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow Glide APIs.
• Experience with Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, and ACLs.
• Hands-on experience with ITSM modules.
• Experience in Service Catalog development and configuration.
• Knowledge of Flow Designer, workflows, and process automation.
• Experience with REST APIs, SOAP, JSON/XML, and ServiceNow integrations.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with IntegrationHub and MID Server.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, LDAP/Active Directory, SAML, and JDBC.
• Exposure to ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, or SPM modules.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with Jira, Workday, SCCM, Azure AD, or third-party monitoring tools.
• ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD).
