The Business Finance function is responsible for the production of business level revenue attribution, financial accounting and financial disclosures. It ensures, on a daily basis, the accurate and timely reporting of Profit and Loss (PnL) for each business unit and ensures that the drivers behind the risk positions and PnL are fully understood and explained. It also ensures that all of the Banks transactions and positions are correctly reflected in the Banks accounting records and disclosures, in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Financial Control & Analysis Financial Control & Analysis is responsible for providing periodic, accurate and independently validated reporting of CIB financials, while maximizing sustainable performance. The Financial Control & Analysis manager plays a critical part in developing and implementing the strategy to mitigate the financial risk caused by control issues across the GL close process (monthly and daily). The role encompasses Product and Business level alignment. This role is within Business Finance, where the candidate will be accountable for the managing financial control functions. The products covered are Loans, Bonds, Equities, Rates & OTC Your key responsibilities Perform & review month-end close activities SAP journals and reconciliations Prepare and review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure. Review and ensure clearance of product level FOBO reconciliation breaks Review, comment upon, escalate and manage timely resolution of business level MAFA breaks. Perform MRP balance sheet certification as Primary or Secondary Account Owner. Investigate and clear exceptions/break items, interacting with Revenue Control, Ops and other Operations teams when necessary Produce and review Business level internal and external financial disclosures Close Self-Identified Issues and Audit points on timely basis. Exposure to multiple front office systems. Sound knowledge of Greeks is a must. Knowledge of US-GAAP / IAS/ IFRS is preferred Ensure controls around processes such as population completeness and accuracy, perform high end QA on existing processes Communication & strong Interpersonal skills; Experience of managing a team preferably, including: Performance appraisal and objective setting. Giving constructive feed-back and mentoring more inexperienced staff. Supervising work performed by others. Experience in carrying out 4-eye checks Your skills and experience 5+ years of overall work experience 5+ + years Financial Control and product control experience in Investment Banking Overseas experience would be a plus. Series 99 certification would be an added advantage. Strong understanding of financial market products such as Loans, Bonds, Credit Derivatives, Cash Equity, Swaps, Options and Futures. Solid Fixed Income product knowledge i.e. Bonds, CDS , TRS, IRS & Loans Ambitious individuals, looking for a challenging role to build an organization of the coming year. Strong knowledge / experience of front to back Investment Banking environment (trade capture to balance sheet) Strong team player with integrity Ability to manage time effectively, prioritizes responsibilities, and escalates issues as necessary. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, strong Word and Excel skills required
