As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will involve collaborating with the development team, product managers, and designers to comprehend business requirements and contribute to technical specifications and software solutions. You will assist in designing, developing, testing, and deploying back-end components of web applications using the MERN stack. Working closely with front-end engineers, you will develop APIs to ensure smooth data flow and system interoperability. Your role will also include optimizing code, conducting testing, and adhering to best practices to guarantee the reliability, performance, and security of the application. You will learn and contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure, particularly utilizing AWS services to ensure scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery. Collaboration with cross-functional teams for successful product launches and providing support when required will be crucial. Active participation in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, is expected. To excel in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in software product development, particularly with product companies. Strong computer science fundamentals and hands-on backend web development experience are essential. An in-depth understanding of back-end technologies like Node.js and Express.js is required, while experience with Ruby on Rails would be advantageous. Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, will be beneficial. Moreover, proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and experience with CI/CD pipelines, as well as a strong inclination for end-to-end product ownership, are necessary. A keen eye for high-quality and timely product delivery, knowledge of Agile methodologies, and problem-solving skills are vital. An interest in exploring emerging technologies for business growth, experience with B2B SaaS products, and a focus on customer delight and comprehensive customer experience are highly valued. Furthermore, excellent verbal and written communication skills, influencing abilities, and an engineering degree in Computer Science or a related field are essential for this role.
