We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior WordPress Developer to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure WordPress websites. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in WordPress core, theme, and plugin development, along with a strong understanding of front-end and back-end web technologies. You will play a crucial role in architectural decisions, code quality, and mentoring junior developers, ensuring the delivery of exceptional web solutions for our clients. Key responsibilities: 1. Lead Development: Lead the full lifecycle development of complex WordPress websites, from concept and design to deployment and ongoing maintenance. 2. Custom Theme & Plugin Development: Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality, custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch, ensuring they are well-documented, secure, and optimized for performance. 3. Code Quality & Best Practices: Enforce and maintain high coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and implement WordPress best practices, security measures, and accessibility standards (WCAG). 4. Performance Optimization: Implement advanced performance optimization techniques, including database optimization, caching strategies, CDN integration, and image optimization, to ensure fast loading times and optimal user experience. 5. Troubleshooting & Debugging: Expertly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, bugs, and compatibility problems across various browsers, devices, and WordPress environments. 6. API Integration: Integrate WordPress websites with third-party APIs, web services, and external platforms (e.g., payment gateways, CRM, marketing automation tools). 7. Database Management: Possess strong knowledge of MySQL and database optimization techniques for WordPress. 8. Version Control: Utilize and enforce version control systems (e.g., Git) for collaborative development and efficient code management. 9. Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with project managers, designers, content creators, and other developers. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior and mid-level developers. 10. Client Interaction: Potentially interact with clients to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and present solutions. 11. Stay Current: Continuously research and stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, security vulnerabilities, new technologies, and industry best practices. 12. Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect websites from vulnerabilities and cyber threats. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 2. 3+ years of demonstrable experience as a WordPress Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex custom WordPress projects. 3. Expert-level proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (including jQuery). In-depth understanding of WordPress architecture, core functionality, themes, and plugins. 4. Proven experience in developing responsive and mobile-first WordPress websites. 5. Strong knowledge of MySQL and database management. 6. Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) in a headless WordPress environment is a significant plus. 7. Familiarity with web servers (Apache, Nginx) and server-side configurations. 8. Experience with popular WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg) and their customization. 9. Strong understanding of SEO best practices and their implementation in WordPress. 10. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. 11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an Agile development environment. Preferred Skills (Bonus Points): 1. Experience with WooCommerce or other e-commerce platforms. 2. Experience with multisite installations.
