Key Responsibilities

• Project Management:

• Manage planning projects including budgeting, staffing, and timelines.
• Oversee development of high-quality, user-friendly documents, exhibit boards, and engagement materials.

• Planning & Research:

• Prepare materials for general plans, master plans, zoning updates, housing elements, corridor plans, and grant applications.
• Conduct demographic, economic, environmental, and spatial research using GIS.
• Interpret and apply government policies, codes, ordinances, and regulations.

• Community Engagement:

• Coordinate public engagement, workshops, hearings, and staff reports.
• Act as liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers, and officials.

• Collaboration:

• Work with interdisciplinary teams (design, economics, outreach) to ensure smooth execution.
• Identify community opportunities, issues, and trends for strategic policy development.

Qualifications

• Minimum:

• Bachelors degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, City Planning, or related field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in current planning or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred:

• Advanced degree and/or professional certifications.
• Strong GIS and data analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
