Job Description

  • As a Senior Specialist in Pediatric Pulmonology, your primary focus is on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of respiratory disorders in children
  • You specialize in addressing the unique needs of pediatric patients, from newborns to adolescents, who may experience a wide range of respiratory conditions
  • Your role involves conducting thorough evaluations, performing diagnostic tests, and interpreting results to formulate accurate diagnoses
  • You work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each child's specific condition
  • Your expertise may encompass various respiratory disorders, including but not limited to:Asthma: Assessing and managing asthma in children, including monitoring symptoms, prescribing appropriate medications, and educating patients and their families about asthma management techniques
  • Cystic Fibrosis: Diagnosing and managing this genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs
  • You may help develop personalized treatment plans, including medications, airway clearance techniques, and nutritional support
  • Chronic cough: Investigating and treating persistent coughs in children, which may be caused by conditions such as upper airway cough syndrome, asthma, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • Respiratory infections: Evaluating and managing respiratory infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and bronchiolitis
  • This includes assessing disease severity, determining appropriate treatment options, and monitoring progress
  • Sleep-disordered breathing: Diagnosing and treating sleep-related breathing disorders, such as sleep apnea, in children
  • You may work with sleep specialists to conduct sleep studies and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Congenital lung anomalies: Providing specialized care for children born with congenital abnormalities of the respiratory system, such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia or tracheoesophageal fistula
  • Pulmonary function testing: Conducting and interpreting lung function tests to assess respiratory function and monitor disease progression
  • These tests may include spirometry, lung volume measurements, and diffusion capacity tests
