Senior Software Engineer - Core Services

Role Overview: You will work as a senior software engineer in a scrum team to develop cutting-edge EV technology products in Core Services at ChargePoint. Your primary focus will be on building advanced access control, identity & role management, license management, and Accounts, among other shared services that form the foundation for multiple product teams. Collaboration with Product Owners and Product Managers will be essential to implement solutions aligned with shared platforms and extend them to integrate with various teams. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, program managers, and engineering managers to define technical requirements and work with engineering teams on software design and development. - Develop products from minimum viability to global scale maturity in a fast-paced environment while ensuring that requirements are fully understood and implementation meets expectations. - Act as a product evangelist and subject matter expert for the technical/developer community, promoting engineering best practices. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). - 4+ years of experience in building back-end software. - Proficiency in CS fundamentals such as data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis. - Experience with modern software architecture components like Distributed Systems, Containerization, and Micro Services. - Hands-on experience with Java, SpringBoot, and related technologies. - Working knowledge of one of the cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and popular databases. - Understanding of APIs first approach, monitoring and tracing tools, and continuous integration (CI). - Familiarity with gRPC, Kubernetes, NoSQL, GraphQL, and Prometheus is a plus. - Strong ownership mindset with the ability to voice opinions, present rationale, and influence decisions using data or factual evidence.
