Senior Scala Software Engineer

As a Software Developer at Wipro Limited in Poland, you will be responsible for building and maintaining production-grade applications using Scala, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. You will leverage Azure services and CI/CD pipelines to deploy and manage cloud-native applications efficiently. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing and maintaining Kafka-based message streaming pipelines to support real-time data processing and analytics. - Working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features. - Applying functional programming principles using libraries like ZIO or Cats, and ensuring code quality through rigorous testing and code reviews. - Investigating and resolving issues in distributed systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience. - Participating in architectural discussions and decisions, especially around JVM-based systems and SQL data integration. - Staying updated with emerging technologies and contributing to internal knowledge sharing, including the adoption of open-source tools and frameworks. - Providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. - Maintaining clear documentation and communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications required for this role include: - 5+ years of software development experience in building and shipping production-grade software. - Strong knowledge of Scala. - Proven development experience in software engineering on the Azure platform using CI/CD techniques with Scala. - Familiarity with Java/JVM/SQL. - Experience with Kafka message streaming. - Good to have knowledge of Akka and any functional library like ZIO, Cats, etc. - Familiarity with working on distributed systems. - Passion for delivering high quality/delightful user experience, strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. - Ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and adopt solutions from within the company or from the open-source community.
