Senior Radiotherapy Technologist

Job Role & Responsibilities:

• Operate Linear Accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment to administer radiation treatment as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists.
  
• Check and verify the proper operation of all radiation therapy equipment prior to use.
  
• Assist the Radiation Oncologist and Clinical Physicist in the preparation and execution of radiation treatment plans.
  
• Participate in the construction of immobilization devices, such as plaster of Paris casts and acrylic moulds, to ensure precise treatment delivery.
  
• Monitor patients physical and psychological well-being throughout the entire course of treatment.
  
• Advise patients on possible side effects and post-treatment care.
  
• Train, guide, and supervise student technologists and junior radiotherapy technologists as required.
  
• Ensure patients understand the importance and procedures involved in their treatment.
  
• Carefully and cautiously position patients to ensure the radiation beam is directed only to the targeted anatomical area.
  
• Double-check all treatment parameters before setting monitor units according to the prescribed treatment dose.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation, ensure compliance with radiation safety norms, and adhere to all AERB and hospital protocols.
