Job Description

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with approximately 4-7 years of experience in manual and functional testing, API testing, and preferably some automation exposure. This role will be critical in ensuring the quality of both our embedded medical devices and the software dashboard used in hospitals. The ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also capable of handling small QA teams and leading testing efforts from planning to release.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end QA efforts for assigned projects across embedded devices, firmware, and web software components.
Design and execute comprehensive manual and functional test cases.
Perform REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
Collaborate with Product, Hardware, and Software Engineering teams to ensure test coverage across the entire system.
Contribute to and review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Maintain test documentation and track defects through tools like JIRA.
Mentor junior QA team members, and review their test plans and execution.
Drive release readiness, regression cycles, and ensure high product quality in production environments.
Take full ownership of product quality and proactively identify areas of improvement.
Effectively manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Contribute to improving and scaling the test process and QA strategy.
Optional: Assist in maintaining and improving test automation scripts written in Python (PyTest or equivalent).

Qualifications

6 to 7 years of experience in QA, with strong focus on manual and functional testing.
Proficient in writing clear and concise test cases, test scenarios, and bug reports.
Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
Exposure to working on complex systems that involve both hardware and software components.
Familiarity with embedded systems and understanding of firmware behavior.
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc).
Ability to take ownership, work independently, and lead QA in cross-functional projects.
Strong multitasking skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Nice to have:

Experience with Python-based automation frameworks (eg, PyTest).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
Prior experience working in healthcare or medical devices domain.
Exposure to performance or integration testing.
