Senior Project Manager - Data Center

Job Description: Data Center Design Engineering Manager 1.1 Job SummaryThe Data Center Design Engineering Manager leads the planning, design, and supporting execution of data center infrastructure projects. This role ensures that all designs meet high standards of reliability, efficiency, and scalability, while aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.1.2 Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Oversee the architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural design of data centers.
• Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver design packages on time and within budget.
• Technical Oversight: Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and internal specifications.
• Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external consultants, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
• Innovation & Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and infrastructure efficiency.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of design decisions, changes, and project milestones.
• Stakeholder Communication: Present technical concepts and project updates to client senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lifecycle Management: Oversee all phases of data center development including Master Planning, Concept Development, Detailed Design, Procurement, Testing and Commissioning.

1.3 Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in data center design.
• Strong knowledge of power and cooling systems, fire protection, and building automation.
• Familiarity with Tier standards (Uptime Institute), ASHRAE, and local building codes.
• Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale infrastructure projects. In India and APAC region.

1.4 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hyperscale data center environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM tools.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to develop business cases.
