Position Description

Position title: Senior Product Design Engineer

Department: Product R&D

Reports to: Engineering Manager - Product Research &

Development

Location: Bangalore , India

Summary

Senior product engineering position in research & development to develop innovative,

manufacturable, cost effective and high quality products.

Key areas of accountability

• Product Design • Plan and technically lead the design of new products, from concept

through to prototyping, design verification, qualification testing, etc.

• Specify, design and implement test methodologies required for new

products and specifications.

• Participate in the process of defining product and process

development directions, based on understanding current and

pending market needs and technology state-of-the-art.

• Teamwork • Work with the product management team to identify product

requirements and priorities.

• Provide assistance in planning and technical guidance for others in

the Team to solve customer, production and design problems.

• Lead in project work.
• Continuous

• Contribute to organisation-wide continuous improvement by

identifying opportunities; and participate in and/or proactively lead

initiatives.

• Continuously enhance the product and technology used in the

company by innovation and by assessing and employing leading-edge

concepts and trends.

• General • Undertake other reasonable duties as required relating to the

functions and responsibilities of the Team / Company.

• Support the development of Junior engineers by providing

mentorship and technical guidance as required on a regular basis

• Commit to and engage in regular one-on-one and team meetings.

Person Specification

Essential Desirable

Key technical skills • RF design expertise with a track record of

developing state of the art high frequency

products.

• Solid understanding and hands on experience in

product level simulation, using tools like Simulink.

• Strong knowledge of APQP and design for

manufacturing Engineering techniques

• Solid engineering knowledge and experience in

leading product realisation

• At least 2 years of Technical leadership
• Ability to peer review engineering work and

provide clear feedback and guidance

• Experience of modern day engineering techniques
• Proficient in the use of circuit modelling and

simulation tools

• Experience with analogue circuit design and PCB

design

• Experience with test systems
• Proficient in software languages such as Python

and C#.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering • PhD/Master/Post

Grad Dip in

Engineering or Science

Work experience •

7+ years in an electronics design role within a high

volume manufacturing environment

• 3+ years of experience in leading technical

product design projects.
