You will be joining Evervent, a technology-driven firm in the Insurtech space, specializing in cloud-based solutions to streamline insurance workflows. Your role as a Team Lead Node.js Developer involves taking charge of backend development for scalable, high-performance applications. Your expertise is crucial in leading a team, establishing best practices, and delivering robust Node.js solutions to support critical business operations. While backend development is the primary focus, familiarity with React.js would be advantageous, especially for collaboration with front-end teams. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a team of backend developers to ensure quality, performance, and timely delivery of backend services. - Architect and develop efficient, reusable, and scalable backend systems using Node.js. - Design and manage secure, high-performance APIs and backend services. - Oversee database architecture, performance tuning, and data modeling (SQL/NoSQL). - Collaborate with front-end, DevOps, and product teams to align technical implementations with business goals. - Implement and maintain coding standards and documentation. - Monitor and improve system performance, scalability, and security. - Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship, and cultivate a high-performance engineering culture. - Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and development trends. Skills & Qualifications: - 5+ years of backend development experience, primarily with Node.js. - Proven track record in leading and mentoring backend or full-stack development teams. - Strong grasp of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and API development. - Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend integration patterns. - Proficiency in database design and management (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL). - Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and data protection best practices. - Proficient in using Git, debugging tools, and modern development workflows. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other DevOps tools is a plus. - Knowledge of React.js or front-end integration concepts is advantageous. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams. Preferred Attributes: - Strong leadership skills, project ownership, and problem-solving capabilities. - Ability to balance hands-on coding with strategic technical oversight. - Experience in agile/scrum environments and product-oriented development.
