Senior Network Operations Engineer
In this role, you will lead the technical execution of Point of Presence (PoP) buildouts, large-scale data center-to-PoP migrations, and high-capacity carrier transport deployments. Acting as a technical authority during scheduled change windows, you will ensure high availability, architectural compliance, and zero unplanned downtime across complex multi-vendor fabric environments.
Primary Responsibilities
Infrastructure & PoP Builds:
Direct the end-to-end commissioning, validation, and go-live phases of enterprise PoP installations, multi-site interconnects, and data center migrations.Architecture & Standards Governance:
Author, audit, and maintain production-grade High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and Methods of Procedure (MOP) to standardize operational readiness.Source of Truth Management:
Maintain data integrity across the network fabric by establishing baseline configurations, circuit inventories, and IP schemes within Nautobot
and DCIM toolsets.Carrier & Vendor Management:
Coordinate with Tier-1 telecommunications carriers and hardware vendors to supervise high-bandwidth circuit acceptance, optical delivery, cross-connect provisioning, and link SLA sign-offs.Change Execution & Operational Resilience:
Lead complex routing cutovers, device refreshes, and firmware lifecycle management during assigned rotational night shifts and maintenance windows.
Required Qualifications & Technical Acumen
Industry Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years
of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering, operations, or large-scale data center environments.Fabric & Overlay Architecture:
Advanced hands-on implementation and operational depth in EVPN, VXLAN, MP-BGP, and VRF-lite/multi-tenant topologies
.Core Routing Protocols:
Expert-level understanding of dynamic IP routing protocols, including BGP (eBGP/iBGP), OSPF, IS-IS, and EIGRP
.Transport & WAN Engineering:
Strong practical knowledge of transport architectures including Segment Routing (SR-TE), MPLS (L2/L3VPN), DWDM optical interfaces
, and DMVPN.Multi-Vendor Network OS:
Advanced operational and CLI configuration experience across Arista EOS
, Cisco (NX-OS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE)
, and Linux-based platforms (e.g., Cumulus).Operational Availability:
Demonstrated flexibility and readiness to support rotational schedules, night shifts, and off-hours maintenance cutovers
.
Preferred Credentials
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (
CCIE
Data Center, Enterprise, or Service Provider) or equivalent industry certification (e.g., JNCIE, Arista ACE). - Working familiarity with API-driven network automation workflows (Python, Ansible, Jinja2) leveraging Nautobot or NetBox.
