Role Description
The Senior Network Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Jaipur Area, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the university’s network infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks; monitoring network performance; and proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and reliability. The role involves developing and improving network architectures, implementing robust security controls and policies, and performing regular risk assessments and audits. The Senior Network Engineer collaborates with IT and academic stakeholders to support teaching, research, and administrative needs, manages network documentation and standards, and leads or mentors junior team members in best practices. The position also includes coordinating with vendors and service providers, planning upgrades, and contributing to long-term network strategy and capacity planning.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise networks.

Candidates should possess advanced Network Engineering and Network Design skills for planning, implementing, and optimizing scalable, reliable architectures.

Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex network performance and connectivity issues.

Candidates should possess expertise in Network Security, including firewalls, VPNs, access control, intrusion detection/prevention, and security best practices.

Relevant skills such as experience with TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), Wi-Fi networks, and network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds) are highly beneficial.

Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, JNCIS, or equivalent vendor certifications are preferred.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a campus-based environment and lead technical initiatives.
