Senior Manufacturing Engineer- Composite Manufacturing & Assembly

As a Technical Expert in Composite Manufacturing and Assembly Processes at Sarla Aviation, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing urban air mobility with our innovative Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (EVTOL) aircraft. Your responsibilities will include being a key figure in structural integration, system installation, GD&T interpretation, and end-to-end aircraft build sequencing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, compliance with standards, and optimized assembly processes under fast-paced timelines. Additionally, you will be the primary on-site expert for resolving issues across structural, mechanical, and integration domains, driving Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA). Your role will also involve coordinating with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the timely availability of critical components and tooling. As a mentor, you will guide junior manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a hands-on, solution-driven culture that focuses on continuous improvement. Moreover, you will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date work instructions, assembly fixtures, and value stream maps tailored for low-volume, high-complexity prototype builds while ensuring a balance between quality, efficiency, and safety. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in composite manufacturing and assembly in the aerospace sector. A deep understanding of composite materials, bonding techniques, and aircraft structural integration is essential. Proficiency in GD&T, CAD tools (preferably NX), and PLM systems is required. You should also possess strong knowledge of quality standards and the certification process.
