As a Technical Expert in Composite Manufacturing and Assembly Processes at Sarla Aviation, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing urban air mobility with our innovative Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (EVTOL) aircraft. Your responsibilities will include being a key figure in structural integration, system installation, GD&T interpretation, and end-to-end aircraft build sequencing. Additionally, you will be the primary on-site expert for resolving issues across structural, mechanical, and integration domains, driving Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA). Your role will also involve coordinating with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the timely availability of critical components and tooling. As a mentor, you will guide junior manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a hands-on, solution-driven culture that focuses on continuous improvement. Moreover, you will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date work instructions, assembly fixtures, and value stream maps tailored for low-volume, high-complexity prototype builds while ensuring a balance between quality, efficiency, and safety. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in composite manufacturing and assembly in the aerospace sector. A deep understanding of composite materials, bonding techniques, and aircraft structural integration is essential. Proficiency in GD&T, CAD tools (preferably NX), and PLM systems is required. You should also possess strong knowledge of quality standards and the certification process. Additionally, you will need to have foundational knowledge of electrical integration with a strong intent to expand into cross-functional domains. Coordinating with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the timely availability of critical metallic components, raw materials, and tooling while maintaining traceability and documentation compliance will be crucial. As a mentor and guide, you will support junior manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a hands-on, solution-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and production readiness. Your role will also involve maintaining up-to-date work instructions, assembly fixtures, and value stream maps tailored for low-volume, high-complexity prototype and production builds, balancing quality, efficiency, and safety. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, with at least 6-8 years of hands-on experience in metallic manufacturing and assembly, preferably in the aerospace sector. Deep understanding of machining, sheet metal forming, welding, fastening, and structural integration of metallic assemblies is essential. Proficiency in GD&T, CAD tools (preferred NX), and PLM systems is required, along with strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards and manufacturing certification processes. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are key attributes for this position, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic prototype, and low-rate production environment.
