As a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering at Expedia, your role will involve leading, coordinating, and collaborating on multiple complex initiatives within the Distribution and Supply team. Your responsibilities will include: - Building, growing, and shaping adaptive teams and individuals to achieve their goals and advance in their careers. - Leading all phases of the software development lifecycle for enterprise applications projects to address sophisticated business challenges. - Collaborating with EG leaders to architect and build robust applications and choose relevant technologies for the travel platform. - Supporting technical leads and individual contributors through coaching, training, performance evaluations, and recruitment. - Creating a positive work environment based on accountability and inclusiveness, while mentoring the team and ensuring quality technical execution. - Demonstrating knowledge of the product development lifecycle and engaging with peers to simplify processes and advocate for operational excellence. - Remaining informed on industry trends and bridging the gap between technology and non-technology personnel. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. - 7+ years of post-college software development experience in an object-oriented language. - 3+ years of people management experience with a focus on growing individual careers and enabling high-performing teams. - Strong technical acumen and commitment to quality engineering work, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to switch contexts effectively and take ownership of outcomes, continuously learning and improving.
