Senior Manager of Software Development

As a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering at Expedia Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping adaptive and motivated teams to drive the success of the Distribution and Supply team. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to: - Building, growing, and shaping teams and individuals around their goals, ownership, and career development. - Leading and collaborating on multiple complex initiatives, understanding goals, constraints, and making strategic trade-offs. - Contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, analysis, development, and deployment efforts for enterprise applications projects. - Collaborating with leaders to architect and build robust applications for the EG travel platform. - Supporting technical leads and individual contributors through coaching, training, and development. - Creating a positive work environment based on accountability and inclusiveness. - Mentoring the team and establishing credibility through quality technical execution. - Demonstrating knowledge of the product development lifecycle and improving product performance. - Engaging with peers to simplify cross dependencies and prioritize opportunities. - Advocating for operational excellence and ensuring clear understanding of customer requirements. - Bridging the gap between technology and non-technology personnel. - Remaining informed on industry trends and encouraging engineers to improve operational inefficiencies. - Reporting on team status and seeking suggestions for project improvement. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent professional experience. - 7+ years of post-college software development experience in an object-oriented language. - 3+ years of people management experience. - Strong technical acumen and commitment to quality engineering work. - Excellent communication skills and effective collaboration. - Ownership of outcomes and accountability for delivering impactful results.
