Senior Lead Software Engineer, Front End

As a developer optimizing user interfaces at Agoda, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience for millions of travelers worldwide. Your responsibilities will include: - Architecting and developing high-performance, cross-platform web applications - Leading the design and implementation of Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services - Establishing and enforcing best practices for front-end testing and quality assurance - Driving initiatives to optimize Core Web Vitals and overall application performance - Owning a significant portion of Agoda's system and contributing to the vision and overall architecture - Enabling collaboration and cross-team projects, focusing on the quality of services, code, and architecture - Providing feedback to create an inclusive engineering environment and championing engineering fundamentals - Identifying and implementing optimization opportunities across the technology stack To succeed in this role, you will need: - 10+ years of overall experience in engineering roles - Hands-on experience with production services impacting design, development, deployment, monitoring, and evolution - Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks and state management solutions - Understanding of cross-platform development challenges and solutions - Experience with Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns and micro-frontend architecture - Knowledge of front-end testing methodologies, tools, and best practices - Track record of optimizing applications for Core Web Vitals and web performance - Understanding of web security, accessibility standards, and SEO best practices - Strong communication skills to explain technical details to stakeholders - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field It would be great if you also have: - A Masters or Ph.D. in a technical field - Deep understanding of React and state managers (Redux, Zustand, Valtio) - Experience with C# and .Net Core - Experience with Kotlin or other JVM languages This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand with relocation provided.
