Lead / Sr. Lead – Indirect Taxation

Key Responsibilities

• Review all GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, etc.) and ensure timely filing.
• Review and reconcile GST input tax credit to avoid any loss of credit.
• Prepare revenue reconciliations and validate accurate reporting of income streams in GST returns.
• Review GST accounting for asset procurement and sale transactions.
• Ensure robust controls to prevent errors in accounting of GST liability or credit during income/expense booking.
• Review customer and vendor agreements to safeguard the company’s GST interests.
• Analyze GST implications of new and existing business processes.
• Keep the organization updated with changes in GST laws/provisions and implement necessary process or system revisions.
• Coordinate with external consultants and provide required information for advisory support.
• Prepare replies to GST notices and ensure timely submission of documentation.
• Draft and file appeal papers, stay applications, and related submissions as needed.
• Address departmental queries with accurate and well-supported responses.
• Proactively implement process improvements to avoid last-minute corrections.
• Review and ensure timely filing of GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.

Skills & Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA)

  qualification is mandatory.

• 6–15 years of experience

  in the Indirect Tax (GST) domain.
• Experience in the

  banking or financial services industry

  is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GST regulations, compliance, reconciliations, and audits.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work proactively, independently, and cross-functionally.
