Senior Lead Design Engineer - PV+BESS

Job Description: As a Senior Lead Design Engineer - PV+BESS at Torpedo Engineering Services (TES) in Pune, you will be responsible for overseeing design engineering projects related to PV Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Your primary focus will be on designing and engineering DC & AC side electrical systems for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects ranging from kWp to MWp scale. You will need to provide optimized designs and solutions based on client requirements and possess knowledge of engineering specifications and standards such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, and IS. Key Responsibilities: - Design and engineer DC & AC side electrical systems for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects - Provide optimized designs and solutions based on client requirements - Knowledge of engineering specifications and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS - Understanding of PV syst software, energy yield simulations, and performance ratio - Perform shading analysis using tools like Google SketchUp - Develop power and protection SLDs, PV array layouts, and DC cable routine layouts using AutoCAD - Thorough knowledge of PV plant earthing calculation and lightning risk assessment - Design and size string cable, power cable, cable trenches, and underground raceways - Validate solar PV inverters string and central component power/control schematics - Sizing calculations for protection fuse, connectors, SCB, SPD, and DC components - Auxiliary load calculation and schematic diagram designing - Design and engineer inverter stations, MV transformer stations, MV switching stations, utility metering systems, and transmission/evacuation lines - Understanding of SCADA system and ability to develop SCADA architecture - Perform short circuit current calculation and equipment short circuit ratings - Communication with clients, project progress tracking, and interdisciplinary coordination - Coordination of designs and review activities between Contractor/EPC, Design team, and client office - Capacity and leadership skills to guide the drafting team and ensure project deliverable targets Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree (BE/B-TECH) in Electrical Engineering - Knowledge in AutoCAD - Knowledge in ETAP,
