Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as a Senior Lead Design Engineer - PV+BESS located in Pune. The role involves overseeing design engineering projects related to PV Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines. Job responsibilities · Design and engineering of DC & AC side electrical systems of rooftop and ground mounted projects of kWp to MWp scale solar PV projects. · Should be able to provide optimized designs and solutions to the client based on client requirements. · Should have knowledge in DC & AC engineering specifications of Solar PV Plants and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc. · Fair understanding of with PV syst software and energy yield simulations and performance ratio. Should be able to understand various solar PV Module technologies and mounting systems like fixed tilt and trackers. · Shall be able to perform shading analysis using software tools like google Sketch up. · Should be able to Develop of power and protection SLDs, PV array layouts, grouping etc. on design tools like AutoCAD latest software's. · Should be able to Prepare and guide draftsman for Plant Layout GA drawings, PV Array Layout, DC Cable routine layouts, DC Grouping layout and all other Solar PV plant layouts. · Shall have thorough knowledge of performing PV plant Earthing Calculation as per IEEE-80, BS, IS-3034 and other related international standards: Earthing conductor sizing and earth mat design. · Shall have thorough knowledge of performing Lightning risk assessment and lightning calculations for design for Solar PV plant as per IEC and IEEE guidelines. · should be able to perform design and sizing of String Cable, Power Cable (DC and AC) sizing & calculation; length estimations and Calculations and cable accessories selections. · Should be able to guide draftsman for Design of cable trenches and underground raceways analysis. · Able to understand and Validate Solar PV inverters string and Central component Power / Control schematics, BOQ and Site accessories. · shall be able to do Sizing Calculations for the protection Fuse, Connectors, SCB, SPD all DC components and Ability to select the DC Fuse, SCB, String / Central Inverters or PCS and all associated equipment’s for solar PV plant as per IEC, IS, IEEE standards. · Review & preparation of General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, check list preparation, Equipment sizing and configuration for the DC Component. · Auxiliary Load calculation AC & DC and designing schematic diagram of auxiliary loads. Performing illumination sizing calculations, Ventilation calculations, Fire alarm system for the buildings and open fields of Solar PV array. · Design and engineering of all the aspects of inverter stations, MV transformer stations, MV Switching stations, Utility metering systems, transmission / evacuation lines etc. Good understanding of SCADA system as required for Solar PV systems; should be able to develop SCADA architecture. · Shall be able to review and perform short circuit current calculation to finalize equipment short circuit ratings. · shall be able to maintain the communication with client, project progress tracking, interdisciplinary coordination. Attending meetings at customer/contractor offices/site, factory acceptance testing and commissioning support. · Coordination of designs and review activities between Contractor/EPC, Design team and client office. Highlight any technical issues as they occur and advise on their actual or potential impacts. · shall be able to perform independently along with the draftsmen incorporating the GA, Construction drawings, design reports and BOQs of utility scale solar PV projects. If required shall demonstrate the design at client office locations or end clients. · Should have capacity and leadership skills to guide the drafting team time to time and ensure the deliverable targets for the projects. Qualifications: Bachelors degree(BE/B-TECH) in Electrical engineering Knowledge in AutoCAD Knowledge in ETAP
