Senior Java Backend Engineer & Team Lead

Role Overview: You are a Senior Java Backend Engineer & Team Lead responsible for designing and delivering secure, distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant services, end-user applications, and APIs. Your role involves using your engineering expertise and leadership skills to deliver cloud-hosted (AWS) SaaS systems. You will work on complex, event-driven services following agile engineering practices with a focus on automation. Your attention to detail, code quality, scalability, latency, and platform stability will be crucial in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to refine requirements, propose technical solutions, and provide accurate estimates. - Translate requirements into efficient and high-quality implementations. - Take ownership of implemented solutions, supporting them from proof of concept to production deployment. - Emphasize not only on development but also on running software in production, defining monitoring/alerting specifications, and enhancing observability and traceability of all production flows. - Provide mentorship to junior team members and establish expertise in every part of the product you contribute to. - Engage in code reviews and other activities to ensure the quality of Engage products. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent is required. - Minimum of 9 years of experience in an engineering software development role focusing on building backend services and APIs. - Demonstrated success in delivering event-driven, highly available, scalable, and resilient enterprise-grade commercial cloud services. - Proficiency in Java application development with advanced knowledge of Java Core, Collections, Multithreading, Java Memory Model, and Garbage collection. - Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven system design, distributed systems, and eventual consistency principles. - Experience in developing REST services, including knowledge of REST manifesto, stateful/stateless services, and load balancing strategies. - Strong skills in RDBMS, including writing advanced queries, designing table structures/indexes/triggers, and query optimization/query plan analysis. - Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud platform, preferably AWS. - Proficient in K8S with experience in kubectl, K8S types, and Helm. - Familiarity with Big Data technologies and cloud-based CI/CD methodologies. - Experience deploying applications using Kubernetes and working with messaging queues like Kafka.,
