Senior Health and Safety Adviser

As a safety officer at Mott MacDonald, your role will involve ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by supporting the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. - Monitoring the use of safety equipment and ensuring it is in good, working condition. - Assisting in conducting risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential risks on the construction site. - Recommending and implementing preventative measures to mitigate identified risks. - Providing basic safety training and education to workers and contractors. - Ensuring all staff members are aware of and understand safety protocols and procedures. - Preparing detailed incident reports and performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. - Investigating accidents and near-misses to identify areas for improvement. - Supporting the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. - Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and regulations. - Liaising with site managers, supervisors, and workers to promote a culture of safety. - Providing feedback and suggestions for improving safety measures on-site. The ideal candidate for this position must have: - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software. - Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment. - Strong attention to detail and vigilance in identifying safety violations. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Prior construction experience in industrial projects. Minimum qualifications required: - Diploma / BE / BTech in Civil Engineering. - Relevant certifications in occupational health and safety are a plus. - Experience: 4 to 5 Years.
