Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at the Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center R&D facility, you will be involved in all phases and activities of the software development process. Operating in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment, you will work closely with the Tech Lead, developers, V&V engineers, internal partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and progress. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, developing, and testing high-integrity software for medical devices. You will also be required to learn and adhere to software standards for medical devices, such as IEC62304, define software requirements, implement designs, review team members" work, and contribute advanced technical expertise to solve complex problems. Furthermore, you will actively participate in process improvement initiatives, providing hands-on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior software engineers. Encouraging innovation, developing reusable patterns, and driving the development of software features/modules through the SDLC will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal and external partners, maintain and design software tools, and work under general direction to achieve common goals. To excel in this role, you should possess 8-12 years of relevant software development experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Bio-Technology, Bio-Medical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering from a reputable institute. Your expertise should include creating and consuming RESTful web services, working with Agile methodologies, and applying Test Driven Development practices. Proficiency in various design patterns, experience with version control systems, secure software development, mobile software development, web-based technologies, and development platforms/tools is also required. Moreover, effective communication and collaboration within a cross-functional work environment are essential for success in this position.
