Senior Engineer, QA Automation

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of experience in QA and Test Automation with strong hands-on expertise in 

  Java

  , 

  Selenium

  , 

  Rest Assured

  , 

  API Testing

  , and good knowledge of 

  SQL

• Strong background in building and maintaining automation frameworks using 

  Java

  , Selenium WebDriver, and Rest Assured.
• Solid understanding of 

  API testing

   concepts with proven hands-on experience in API automation using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for test data validation.
• Expertise in Cucumber & SpecFlow with good understanding of BDD, Gherkin, and behavior-driven testing.
• Hands-on experience in defect management using tools like JIRA.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Proven ability to create dashboards and provide insights on test execution, coverage, and quality metrics.
• Experience in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, TFS, GitLab, or similar, including integration of Selenium + Java and API automation suites.
• Ability to analyze requirements and create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Experience in developing automated scripts using Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, Maven, etc. (Java strongly preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Automation Frameworks (BDD, Gherkin, Rest Assured, Jenkins) and API Testing strategies.
• Experience with automation tools such as UFT, TOSCA, TestComplete, Katalon, Appium, Protractor, etc.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
• Solid understanding of Agile principles and collaborative QA processes.
• Ability to generate test reports, track defects, and ensure end-to-end test coverage.

I RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand business, functional, and non-functional requirements of the application.
• Analyze and document requirements with SMEs and convert them into detailed test scenarios.
• Collaborate with clients and product owners to define testing scope, acceptance criteria, and environment readiness.
• Prepare test plans and test strategies incorporating automation using 

  Java

  Selenium

  Rest Assured

  , 

  API Testing

  , and SQL-based validations.
• Estimate test efforts, define schedules, identify dependencies, risks, and constraints.
• Perform risk analysis and propose mitigation approaches for technical and business risks.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and reusable components using 

  Java

  , Selenium, Rest Assured, and CI/CD integrations.
• Build and maintain API automation solutions using Rest Assured with strong focus on API coverage and regression stability.
• Validate backend data using SQL queries to ensure data integrity and correctness.
• Implement and enhance BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Behave/JBehave) to support automated acceptance testing.
• Execute functional, regression, API, and automation testing ensuring high product quality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure continuous execution.
• Identify, report, and track defects to closure with detailed analysis.
• Prepare test summary reports, highlight risks, and recommend release readiness.
• Communicate quality metrics, defects, and progress with stakeholders.
• Participate in retrospectives and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
• Provide demos of tested features to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work closely with developers and QA peers to triage issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide constructive feedback within the team and uphold quality standards.
