Senior Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take charge of the electrical design, calculations, and documentation for our projects, primarily in the oil and gas sector. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical load lists, equipment lists, cable sizing, and performing advanced electrical studies to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare Electrical Load Lists for High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) systems.
2. Prepare detailed Electrical Equipment Lists for HV, MV, and LV.
3. Perform Cable Sizing calculations for HV, MV, and LV networks.
4. Develop Cable Schedules for HV, MV, and LV cables.
5. Design and carry out calculations for Transformers in switchyards.
6. Prepare Switchyard and Substation calculations and detailed drawings.
7. Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) including calculations and drawings for HV, MV, and LV systems.
8. Perform lighting calculations using Dialux software and create lighting layouts.
9. Conduct earthing system calculations and prepare layouts accordingly.
10. Prepare hazardous area classification layouts following relevant standards.
11. Develop cable routing layouts ensuring optimal and compliant cable management.
12. Utilize ETAP software to perform Load Flow studies, Short Circuit studies, Relay Coordination studies, Motor Starting Current calculations, and other electrical system analyses.
13. Review Navisworks files of 3D models and provide technical comments and feedback for electrical systems integration.
14. Maintain updated knowledge of industry standards, onshore and offshore electrical design codes, and best practices, with strong emphasis on onshore projects.
    

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in electrical engineering design, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong expertise in HV, MV, and LV electrical systems design and analysis.
• Proficient in ETAP, Dialux, and Navisworks software.
• Hands-on experience with transformer design, switchyard/substation layouts, and hazardous area classification.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with relevant international standards and codes for electrical design in oil and gas.
