Senior Design Engineer - Engine Installation & Cooling

In the position of an Engineer at Caterpillar, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, building, and implementing new products, components, or technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in the New Product Introduction (NPI) environment to ensure effective project execution. Effective communication of project objectives, active solicitation of insights and feedback from team members, and providing innovative solutions to technical challenges are key aspects of your role. Your significant technical expertise will be utilized to lead or support new product concepts, product improvements, and complex engineering projects. You will be involved in identifying design risks, evaluating alternate solutions, and proactively resolving challenges to meet stakeholder, business, and customer expectations. Additionally, your responsibilities will encompass researching new materials and competitive products, organizing and executing prototype building, testing, and analysis, as well as supporting supplier development and performance. Furthermore, your role will involve developing and documenting functional requirements, translating them into detailed design documents, participating in buy-build analysis for product components, supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports. A degree in an accredited Engineering or Mechanical curriculum is a prerequisite for this position. To excel in this role, you should possess skills in analytical thinking, effective communication, managing multiple priorities, technical excellence, computer-aided design & engineering, product design - MFG, and product design and development.
