We are currently seeking a Senior Sybase Database Administrator to join our Database Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity for the database administrator to fully integrate into the Broadridge environment and gain exposure to a variety of customer-facing Broadridge products. Given that data serves as the backbone of our organization, the technical expertise of the database administrator is crucial in ensuring that our databases perform optimally, remain secure, and are easily recoverable. Senior Database Administrators will be responsible for establishing environments that adhere to industry standards and best practices, meeting both operational and business needs. They will undertake all aspects of database administration and should possess a comprehensive understanding of database functionalities, utilities, and recovery protocols. Serving as the go-to authorities on database products, they will play a pivotal role in ensuring that databases are deployed and configured in a manner that aligns with application requirements. Collaboration with application teams will be essential in fine-tuning SQL queries to minimize resource consumption and enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, they will actively contribute to process enhancement initiatives across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by developing scripts and procedures to expedite delivery timelines. Continuous monitoring of capacity and predictive reports will enable them to efficiently allocate system resources. Proficiency in AWS/Cloud technologies will equip them to actively engage in the organization's cloud migration journey. They will also be involved in on-call responsibilities, providing senior-level expertise in addressing database-related issues. Effective communication with vendors and collaboration with Broadridge support teams are crucial in articulating database challenges and facilitating their resolution.
