About the Role

Senior Database Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain

  automated data pipelines

  for extraction, transformation, and loading using

  StreamSets

  ,

  DBT

  , or similar tools.
• Develop and optimize

  cloud-based data warehouses

  , with a focus on

  Snowflake

  (preferred) or Azure Synapse.
• Write high-performance

  SQL queries and stored procedures

  , with a focus on

  PostgreSQL

  in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Lead data ingestion strategies including

  cleaning, de-duplication

  , and transformation of large and complex datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Data, Design, Executive) to understand and support data requirements.
• Identify opportunities for

  automation and process improvement

  across the data engineering lifecycle.
• Implement and enforce

  data security standards

  (column-level encryption, TDE, access controls).
• Drive

  database code reviews

  , unit testing, and bug fixes.
• Guide scrum teams in data architecture, integration patterns, and modeling best practices.
• Support dashboard teams via

  exploratory data analysis

  (Power BI / Tableau desirable).

Required Skills

• Expertise in

  Snowflake

  (preferred) or Azure Synapse
• Hands-on experience with

  StreamSets

  ,

  DBT

  , or SnapLogic
• Strong knowledge of

  PostgreSQL

  (cloud-hosted) and

  SQL optimization

• Experience in

  data modeling

  , OLTP/OLAP systems, and enterprise data architectures
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Understanding of

  SQL security techniques

  (e.g., encryption, TDE)
• Version control with

  Git

  or

  Azure DevOps

• Exposure to

  Agile methodologies

  (Scrum or Kanban)
• Good documentation and communication skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience with

  CI/CD automation

  for data pipelines
• Scripting knowledge in

  Python

  or

  Golang

• Familiarity with

  NoSQL databases

  and

  real-time replication

• Experience with

  Power BI

  /

  Tableau

  for data visualization
• Ability to map source data to ER models and manage metadata
