Senior Database Administrator - SQL Server

You should have at least 8 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration for the role located in Technopark, Trivandrum. Your primary responsibility will be to optimize database queries for fast and efficient data retrieval, especially for complex or high-volume operations. You will also be required to design and implement effective indexing strategies to enhance query execution times and overall database performance. Monitoring and profiling slow or inefficient queries to suggest best practices for rewriting or re-architecting queries will be part of your duties. Additionally, you will analyze execution plans for SQL queries to identify bottlenecks and optimize them. As part of your role, you will be responsible for database maintenance tasks such as scheduling and executing regular maintenance activities including backups, consistency checks, and index rebuilding. Implementing automated monitoring systems to track database performance, availability, and critical parameters like CPU usage, memory, disk I/O, and replication status will also be crucial. Proactive resolution of database issues like locking, deadlocks, and data corruption before they affect users or operations is expected. Moreover, you will be required to implement and manage database clustering, replication, and failover strategies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery. Experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle database administration, exposure to Data Lake, Hadoop, and Azure technologies, as well as familiarity with DevOps or ITIL will be advantageous. Ideally, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Possessing Microsoft SQL certifications such as MTA Database, MCSA: SQL Server, and MCSE: Data Management and Analytics will be considered a plus. (ref:hirist.tech),
