Senior Data Scientist, Research Cloud

As a member of the Cloud Supply Chain Data (CSCD) Data Science and Product team, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in analytics to develop productivity and data products. Your role will involve building Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)/statistical models and providing valuable insights to support Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) in defining and achieving business objectives. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Alternatively, equivalent practical experience will be considered. You are required to have a minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing analytics to address product or business challenges, including proficiency in coding languages such as Python, R, SQL, querying databases, and statistical analysis. In the absence of a Master's degree, a Ph.D. with 3 years of relevant experience will also be considered. Preferred candidates will possess at least 8 years of experience in analytics, coding, querying databases, or statistical analysis, or 6 years with a Ph.D. You should also have a solid grasp of data, metrics, analysis, and trends, coupled with expertise in measurement, statistics, and program evaluation. A strong capability to acquire knowledge about Supply Chain Operations is desirable, along with exceptional problem-solving and business judgment skills. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around developing machine learning and statistical models to identify anomalies, forecast trends, classify patterns, and optimize processes within Google Cloud Supply Chain and Operations. You will be expected to address investigative problems, conduct exploratory data analysis, and contribute to model design and development. Furthermore, you will play a key role in project planning and execution, advising on the selection of appropriate methods and suggesting enhancements to data infrastructure. In case of any issues related to scope, data, or approach, you will be responsible for escalating these matters to stakeholders, presenting insights, and recommending actionable steps to achieve desired outcomes.,
