Senior Data Engineer - Analytics

As an Analytics Engineer, you will work with the Finance teams to transform raw data into meaningful insights using tools like DBT, BigQuery, and Tableau. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining data models, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and creating interactive dashboards and reports. This position offers the opportunity to work in a cross-functional and autonomous environment while contributing to the bank's data strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Work with Finance teams to transform raw data into meaningful insights using tools like DBT, BigQuery, and Tableau - Develop and maintain data models using DBT - Write and optimize SQL queries to transform raw data into structured formats - Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions - Care deeply about mentorship and growing your colleagues - Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones - Work with a diverse group of people with different areas of expertise - Challenge existing approaches when necessary and collaborate effectively within the team - Upskill within the Data Platform squad initially, which looks after all internal data products and the data warehouse Qualifications Required: - 4-8 years of relevant hands-on experience - Proficiency in Python, DBT, Tableau, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, MySQL, pytest, AWS, GCP, Docker, Terraform, GitHub, and GIT - Strong focus on outcomes over outputs - Practice continuous improvement and seek to understand users" needs - Embrace DevOps culture and cloud-native practices - Ability to work in a cross-functional, autonomous environment - Foster a healthy engineering environment that encourages diversity, collaboration, and innovation About OakNorth: OakNorth Bank empowers entrepreneurs to realize their ambitions, understand their markets, and apply data intelligence to scale successfully at pace.
