Senior Control & Automation Engineer

You will be the Senior Control and Automation Engineer at Newtrace, a climate-tech startup focusing on developing next-gen electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. Your role will involve spearheading the design, development, and optimization of control and SCADA systems for the advanced electrolyzer units. You will play a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the electrolyzers and integrated plant systems, particularly in managing high temperatures, pressures, and multi-phase flows. Your responsibilities will include leading the creation of comprehensive C&A architectures, implementing advanced process control strategies, designing control systems for renewable energy integration, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations, selecting appropriate instrumentation, developing PLC and DCS logic, troubleshooting, and providing expert-level support for system optimization. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed technical documentation and collaborating with cross-functional teams. To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in designing and commissioning C&A systems in industrial environments like oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, or thermal power plants. You should be well-versed in designing control systems for high-temperature and high-pressure processes, multi-phase systems, control logics, and major PLC and DCS platforms. A degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field, knowledge of automation design principles, familiarity with industrial communication protocols, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential requirements. It would be advantageous if you have experience in designing control systems for renewable energy sources, integrating multiple process units with a common Balance of Plant, knowledge of electrolyzer technology, expertise in safety instrumented systems, and familiarity with advanced process control techniques.
