Role Overview: As an Application Engineer - II at EY, you will provide intermediate-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. You will support backend performance optimization, data integration, documentation, and secure development practices. Your role will involve translating technical specifications into code for moderately complex new or enhancement projects, writing programs, developing code, testing artifacts, and producing reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for elevating code into various environments, providing production support, and following software development methodology and architecture standards. Key Responsibilities: - Provide intermediate level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, including integrating third-party products. - Translate technical specifications into code for moderately complex projects, write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports. - Employ software development techniques to ensure tests support automation. - Elevate code into different environments on schedule, provide follow-up production support, submit change control requests, and document changes. - Participate in design, code, and test inspections, as well as systems analysis activities. - Understand client business functions, technology needs, and Vanguard's tools, technologies, and applications/databases. - Learn and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures. - Contribute to optimizing system performance through efficient database design and code enhancements. - Support the integration and maintenance of data pipelines between APIs and backend systems. - Maintain and update software documentation for backend components, highlighting logic, processes, and architecture. - Apply intermediate knowledge of backend system security and data protection best practices during development. Qualification Required: - Minimum 3 years of experience in application development, system analysis, or database management. - Bachelors degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelors in Computer Applications (BCA). - Experience with database design, SQL, and data optimization techniques. - Familiarity with API development, integration, and third-party software integration. - Must have skills: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Node JS, AWS, SQL queries, Github, Bitbucket, Bamboo, CI/CD, TDD/BDD (Python optional). - Proficiency in Agile, Confluence, JIRA. - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and experience with cloud platforms and modern development tools is a plus.
